David E. Victor

David E. Victor is the Executive Director/Founder of Project Impact: Preventing Sexual Abuse in Our Communities. Mr. Victor has over 18-years of clinical experience working with survivors and perpetrators of sexual violence.

Mr. Victor has been a victim advocate, a child assault prevention facilitator/coordinator, a juvenile sex offender group home counselor, a mentor for at-risk youth, an advocate for Men Against Rape on the University of Oregon Campus, and a Mental Health Specialist for the Lane County Sex Offender Treatment Program.

A meta-analysis of Certification Standards for Approving Sex Offender Treatment Providers Nationally (2001-2003)

The management/supervision and treatment practices of sexual offenders in Lane County which was funded by a grant from the Center for Sex Offender Management (2003-2005)

The status of Sexual Assault Response Teams throughout Oregon a project funded by the Oregon Attorney General's Sexual Assault Task Force (2006).

Conducted and presented research findings on "Perceived Parental Acceptance vs. Rejection in Adult Male Sexual Offenders" at the 1998 Annual ATSA Research and Treatment Conference in Vancouver, B.C.

Provided training to non-offending spouses regarding sex offender treatment at Lane County Child Advocacy Center (2002)

Guest Lecturer at University of Oregon (2001-2005) on Treating Mandated Clients and Best Practices regarding the Supervision, Treatment and Management of Sexual Abusers.

Provide quarterly training to Lane County CASA members on Sexual Offenses and Sexual Offenders (2004-currently)

Provided in-services and trainings to the following local non-profit agencies - Peal Buck, Looking Glass - New Roads Program, CASA, and Lane County Child Advocacy Group

Keynote Speaker - University of Oregon Substance Abuse Prevention Program Seminar on "Sexual Addictions, Cybersex and Pornography, Sexual Offending, and Resources in the Community" (2004).

Presented information on Child Sexual Abusers at the Acute Child Abuse Response Conference in Eugene, Oregon (2005)

Presented the results of the development and status of Sexual Assault Response Teams in Oregon to the Oregon Attorney General's Sexual Assault Task Force (2005-2006)

Co-presented on the need to expand Primary Prevention Programs at the Attorney General's Sexual Assault Task Force Prevention Workshop (2005)

Attended and participated in pre-conference seminars, and break-out sessions offered at the 3-5 day ATSA Annual Research and Treatment Conferences (1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2001, and 2003).

Attended and participated in Washington Association for Treatment of Sexual Abusers and Oregon Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers - annual conferences, trainings and retreats (1995, 1997, 1998, and 2004).

Attended and participated in a full-day workshops on: Criminal Offenders with Coexisting Diagnoses, Antisocial Personality Disorder, Restorative Justice, STATIC-99, Sex Offender Need Assessment Rating (SONAR), STABLE-2000, Treating Compulsive Sexual Behaviors,

Motivational Interviewing and Assessment of Sexual Offenders, Approaches to Dealing with Cognitive Distortions, Shame & Guilt with Sex Offenders, Reunification and Supervision Standards for Convicted Sex Offenders, and Behavioral Treatment Techniques for the Sexual Offender.

Completed training on the Abel Assessment for Sexual Interest-2 and the Abel-Blasingame Assessment System for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
