Assessments

Project Impact provides a whole host of non-invasive, empirically validated sexual interest assessments from Abel Screening Inc. These assessments assist in the detection of individuals with sexual interest in children as well as other problematic sexual behaviors.
These assessments:
- Objectively measure 22 areas of Sexual Interest
- Help identify the likelihood of past child sexual abuse behavior in men who deny child sexual abuse behavior
- Can help determine an individuals dangerousness and help guide supervision and surveillance requirements
- Can be used to develop treatment plans and monitor progress
- Are computerized and are easy to administer
- Are non-invasive and have no nude stimuli
- Are empirically validated, standardized and have been clinically accepted - over 100,000 tests have been performed by more than 3000 therapists across North America
- Can be used on Adult Men, Women, Adolescent Boys and Girls, as well as individuals with intellectual, learning or developmental disabilities
The Abel Assessment for Sexual Interest-2 (AASI-2) is a comprehensive tool for the evaluation of sexual abusers. It is specifically designed to objectively measure an individual's sexual interest and obtain information regarding involvement in a number of abusive or problematic sexual behaviors.
The Abel-Blasingame Assessment System for individuals with intellectual disabilities (ABID) also contains the objective measure of sexual interest and questionnaire components of the AASI-2, but is specifically designed for use with adults and adolescents with FSIQs of 60 and above. Therefore, the ABID Questionnaire is written on a 2nd grade reading level, is read aloud by the evaluator and is administered as a semi-structured interview. Questions also have concrete visual aids to assist the evaluator in determining the individual's level of understanding of age, body parts, and sexuality.
The Diana Screen - Utilizes the same technological advances as the other Abel Assessments but has been scaled down to give organizations and agencies an additional tool to help identify adults who have a higher likelihood of having sexually abused a child in the past. The Diana Screen is a computerized pass/fail exam that takes less than an hour to complete. The Diana Screen is intended to screen people who will be placed in positions of trust with children.
Community Education

Project Impact provides resources and information for adults to recognize and challenge behaviors they see in others that may put our most vulnerable populations at risk to be sexually abused.
We provide professional in-services, trainings, and workshops that are based on empirically researched for professional and non-professional audiences. Topics can be tailored to an agencies or organizations needs. We specialize in the following topics: Child Abuse Prevention, Management and Treatment of Sexual Offenders, Compulsive Sexual Behaviors, and Sexual Interest Assessments.
We also provide (local, state and national) resources and referral information on ways to access help for either a victim of sexual abuse or a potential perpetrator.
In the near future, Project Impact aims to be a primary producer and distributor of social marketing campaigns. These ads include general information (in both print and multi-media format) on the prevalence of sexual abuse in our society, its impact, warning signs of abuse, and resources for more information.
Support and Intervention Services

Project Impact provides support and intervention services to community and family members, as well as to people at risk to abuse. We provide clinically researched articles and resources on our website, as well as a host of other intervention services (supervisor/chaperone training, supervised visits, and behavioral supports) for individuals, and families who are confronted with the reality that someone they care about may have a sexual behavior problem.
